Asalam alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh. bismillah rahman rahim.I am Harerimana radjab . I am from Rwanda and I have been studying in Albukhary international university for 10 months. This refraction about Information technology FCC133.and I will be reflecting according to what we studied in the class.


We started out by a recap about computers: types and generations which we had seen in the previous course: “computer and internet.” Basically there are five generations of computers which describe how computer gradually developed since 1950-2013. there are also five types of computers: embedded, mobiles phones, personal computers, mid-range, mainframe and supercomputers.


After that we moved on to something which was new to me .the difference between data and information and the importance information. The information is an organized data which is meaningful and can be used to make decision, to influence or persuade, to produce goods for companies as capital resources. On the other hand, data is a raw fact. This means incomplete and useless in this form. Data can be sings letters character etc. information has two basic elements: reach and richness. Reach focus on the number of people exchanging information while richness focus on the amount of quality of information shared in transaction. Richness is composed by three components: bandwidth, customization and interactivity.
Finally we studied the problem which associated with information management. There are many problems in managing information such as Poor quality of information, lack of consistency, duplication, and out-of-date information.
